You’re looking for the best CPUs for GT 1030 because you’re fed up from your current CPU right? or perhaps you just got the GPU and you want a reliable CPU, so in this list I’ve compiled a list of the best CPUs for GT 1030 that will result in 0 bottleneck and will enhance the capabilities of your GT 1030.
What You Should Look For In A CPU
Every graphics card (GPU) has a certain requirement that needs to be met by the CPU and RAM, if the requirement is not met then it results in the GPU under performing. In the case of Nvidia GT 1030, you should be looking for a minimum of a Quad-core CPU or better.
Something cheap and something quadcore like the i5 Processor will do the perfect job of handling your GT 1030.
Here Are The Top 10 CPUs For Nvidia GT 1030
1. Intel Core I5-3470 3.2Ghz Processor
Specifications |
---|
4 cores – 4 threads |
Speed : 3.2Ghz |
Ram Support : Upto 32GB |
Status: Discontinued |
The i5 3470 is quite outdated as it was launched all the way back in 2012, however, it has made it’s name as one of the best quad core processors in the market, even in 2022 it still dominates the market as it can be obtained at a very reasonable and cheap price.
The i5 3470 is the only processor in this list that will give the best bang for the buck, it’s 4 cores will keep up with the GT 1030 and provide a balanced performance through out.
Furthermore, the RAM support is also adequate enough to supply your gaming needs, however, the 3470 processor does not support DDR4 RAM so you’ll have to make do with DDR3 RAM.
2. Intel Core I3-8100 3.6Ghz
Specifications |
---|
4 cores – 4 threads |
Speed : 3.6Ghz |
Ram Support : Upto 64GB |
Status: Launched |
The i3 8100 Processor was launched in 2017, it has upheld it’s performance ever since it’s launch and has been a great processor for every type of graphics card.
Apart from that the price is reasonable keeping in mind that it’s a 5 year old processor, and will still be able to keep up with even an RTX level graphics card so it’ll make a perfect combo with the GT 1030, leaving room for upgrading your GPU as well if you want in the future.
The RAM support is also quite enough, the upside is that you can use a DDR4 RAM with the i3-8100.
3. Intel Core I3-10100F 3.6Ghz (Only $69!!)
Specifications |
---|
4 cores – 8 threads |
Speed : 3.6Ghz |
Ram Support : Upto 128GB |
Status: Launched |
The I3 10th generation processor is so far the latest one we’ve reviewed, and it only costs $69! which is the best bang for the buck.
The processor supports hyper threading and is capable of handling even the latest GPUs without any kind of bottle-neck, plus it’s future proof!
So basically you’re getting the best choice for the cheapest price. The Processor will last upto 3-4 more years easily.
4.Intel Core I7-3770 3.4Ghz
Specifications |
---|
4 cores – 8 threads |
Speed : 3.4Ghz |
Ram Support : Upto 32GB |
Status: Discontinued |
The i7-3770 is an old processor launched in 2012, just like the i5 3rd generation and has been one of the best quad-core processors in the market for quite a while.
Even now in 2022, many people prefer to buy the i7-3770 as it can be obtained at a very cheap price and delivers top notch performance.
5. Intel Core 2 Quad (Q9400) 2.6Ghz
Specifications |
---|
4 cores |
Speed : 2.6Ghz |
Ram Support : Upto 32GB |
Status: Discontinued |
Intel Core 2 Quad is like a classic car that’s been left to age, the processor was released all the way back in my childhood; in 2008 to be precise, however it’s held up it’s name otherwise I wouldn’t be recommending it in this list.
The processor isn’t future proof but still packs a punch and is capable of barely keeping up with the GT 1030 GPU and even some GTX level GPUs!
The processor only costs $38 but it would be difficult to find one in very good condition so I’d advise you to get it from a place like amazon so you get your moneys worth.
6. AMD Ryzen 3-1200 3.1Ghz
Specifications |
---|
4 cores ; 4 threads |
Speed : 3.1Ghz |
Ram Support : Upto 64GB |
Status: Launched |
The Ryzen 3 was one of the first Ryzen processors to be released, it was released back in 2017 and is quite a capable processor, the RAM support is fine, the speed is below average for a processor that was released in 2017.
But hey, we’re talking about the GT 1030 here, it doesn’t require much work from a CPU so the Ryzen 3 1200 would be more than enough to accommodate it’s needs.
But the best thing about it is that it comes with a CPU cooler right from the box!
7. Intel Core I5-2400 3.1Ghz
Specifications |
---|
4 cores ; 4 threads |
Speed : 3.1Ghz |
Ram Support : Upto 64GB |
Status: Discontinued |
The i5 2nd generation is quite an old processor but sufficient enough to support the GT 1030.
8. Intel Core I5-8400 2.8Ghz
Specifications |
---|
6 cores ; 6 threads |
Speed : 2.8Ghz |
Ram Support : Upto 128GB |
Status: Launched |
Don’t let the base speed of the I5-8400 fool you, the processor goes up to a whopping 4.0Ghz!, the processor might not be able to perform to the best of it’s capabilities because the GT 1030 isn’t a strong GPU.
However, the processor is Future Proof and will be more than enough to keep up with RTX level graphics cards.
Conclusion: My Recommendation
If you ask me then I would definitely recommend the I3 10th generation processor, the processor hardly costs $70 and provides the best value for the buck, apart from that the I3 10100F is also future proof and can handle a large amount of RAM too!
